Suno Review (2026): v6, Voices and the 20-Download Cap
What the v6 family and Voices change for audio work, what the plan limits really cost, and why Trustpilot and G2 disagree.
Summary
This Suno review audits the AI music generator as an audio practitioner would: plan limits, v6 models, the Voices feature and four review platforms. Pro costs $8 a month billed yearly for 2,500 credits but only 20 song downloads, which works out to $0.40 per download. G2 rates Suno 4.1/5 on 9 reviews, Product Hunt 4.8/5, Trustpilot 1.7/5 on 196. Strong for fast song sketches and vocal ideas, weak on billing trust and download limits.
Suno is the fastest route from a lyric to a full song with vocals, and v6 adds section-level editing plus Voices for your own vocal. On Pro, $8 a month billed yearly buys 2,500 credits but only 20 song downloads, about $0.40 each. Trustpilot sits at 1.7/5 on billing and support, G2 at 4.1/5. A sketching tool, not a mastering chain.
- Song generation quality
- 7.5/10
- Control and editing
- 6.5/10
- Voice features

- Billing and support trust
- 3.5/10
- Full song with vocals from one text prompt, in roughly a minute per generation
- v6 edits a single section of a finished song while the rest stays fixed
- Voices lets you record or upload your own vocal, with verification so only you can use it
- Pro caps song downloads at 20 per month while granting 2,500 credits, so most credits cannot be exported
- Every earlier model was retired on September 9, 2026, so you cannot fall back to v5.5 for a tuned workflow
- Trustpilot sits at 1.7/5 across 196 reviews, driven by billing disputes and slow human support
Free plan: 50 credits per day, no commercial rights
How we tested
- Plan paid
- None purchased. Plan terms read from the public pricing page (annual billing toggle on)
- Version tested
- v6, v6-wild and v6-mini model family, launched September 9, 2026
- Test period

We did not run a paid subscription or blind listening tests for this page. What we did on October 24, 2026: captured Suno's pricing, v6, Voices and Studio pages with screenshots, copied every plan limit into a table, and derived the cost per download and the share of credits a Pro subscriber can actually export. We then pulled ratings and recurring themes from Trustpilot, G2, Product Hunt and Capterra, and read the r/SunoAI v6 threads. How v6 sounds is reported from users and flagged as such. Scores are our weighing of those sources, not lab measurements.
Should you use Suno?
YES if you...
- Producers who want a vocal-led song sketch to react to before a real session
- Video and game teams that need throwaway demo tracks with lyrics, in volume
- Singers and narrators who want to hear their own recorded voice carried into other styles through Voices
NO if you...
- Anyone who needs to export hundreds of tracks a month on Pro: the cap is 20 downloads
- Engineers who need stable, repeatable output across versions for a client delivery chain
- Buyers who want fast human support when a charge or an account goes wrong
Suno pricing: the download cap is the real price tag
Prices below are the annual-billing rates shown on the pricing page. Monthly billing is $10 for Pro and $30 for Premier.

ROI breakdown: On Pro, 20 downloads for $8 is $0.40 per exported song on annual billing, $0.50 on monthly. On Premier, 60 downloads for $24 gives the same $0.40. Exports, not credits, are the scarce resource.
Hidden costs & gotchas
- Subscription credits do not carry over from day to day or month to month
- Top-up credits never expire, but need an active subscription to use
- Studio actions such as stem separation and Remove FX cost 10 credits each, per third-party coverage of the v6 launch
- A Premier subscriber reports re-downloads of unlocked songs consumed new download credits

Pros and cons
Pros
- One prompt returns a full song with vocals and lyrics G2 and Product Hunt reviewers name vocal quality as the main reason they stay, and say initial vocal generation has improved over the years.
- v6 adds section-level editing and richer starting points You can sample, remove or edit a specific section while keeping the rest consistent, and start from a hum, a riff, text, images, video or audio.
- Voices carries your own recorded vocal into other styles Voice verification restricts use to the account owner, which matters if you care about consent and misuse.
- Studio 2.0 gives Premier users a real arrangement surface MIDI, effects, automation and stem export move Suno closer to a session tool.
Cons
- 20 downloads per month on Pro against 2,500 credits A subscriber on Trustpilot calls the combination misleading. The limit caps how much of the credit pool becomes files.
- Model retirement removed any fallback to v5.5 Launch-week threads describe muffled highs, buried vocals and ignored BPM or genre instructions on v6, and users with tuned personas lost their baseline overnight.
- Trustpilot 1.7/5 driven by billing and slow human support October 2026 complaints: plan downgrades without notice, credits deleted mid-period, and automated replies where a person was requested.
- Voice consistency across versions is still hard to hold Product Hunt reviewers cite difficulty matching a voice across generations, which hurts multi-track projects.
Final verdict
Suno earns a 6.7 out of 10. As an idea engine it is hard to beat: type a lyric, get a vocal-led song in about a minute, and with v6 fix a single section instead of re-rolling the whole track. Voices is the feature this audience should look at first, because it puts your own recorded vocal inside a generated arrangement with verification attached.
The score drops on three points. The Pro plan exports 20 songs a month, so the headline credit count tells you little about what you can actually deliver. The v6 launch retired every earlier model, which turned a taste debate into a workflow problem for people with tuned setups. And the Trustpilot profile, 1.7 out of 5 on 196 reviews with no replies to negative ones, reads like a billing and support warning that G2's small 4.1 sample does not cancel.
Our advice: start on the free plan, check whether v6-mini follows your genre and BPM instructions, and only then pay. Suno suits sketching and demo work. It is not yet a dependable part of a client delivery chain.
- Song generation quality 7.5/10 Strong vocals per G2 and Product Hunt, divided on v6 per Reddit
- Control and editing 6.5/10 Section edits help; Studio 2.0 sits on Premier
- Voice features 7/10 Voices with verification on Pro and Premier
- Pricing and limits 5/10 20 downloads on Pro, 60 on Premier
- Billing and support trust 3.5/10 1.7/5 on Trustpilot, 196 reviews
